Counter-Arguments

The strongest case that this verse does not belong in this theme.

Dominion Over Creation

This verse describes Solomon's building projects and possessions, which are examples of human construction and ownership, not an exercise of authority or control over the natural world or living things. The "dominion" mentioned refers to his political territory, not a command to subdue creation.

Stewardship of Creation

The verse describes Solomon's building projects and possessions, indicating his power and wealth, rather than any explicit or implicit act of caring for, tending, or responsibly managing creation. The focus is on acquisition and construction for his own purposes, not on the preservation or cultivation of natural resources.
