And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Bar–jesus:

Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.

Counter-Arguments

The strongest case that this verse does not belong in this theme.

The Beast from the Earth / False Prophet

The verse describes a specific individual, Bar-jesus, as a "false prophet" and "sorcerer," but it does not attribute to him the characteristics of the Beast from the Earth, such as having lamb-like horns, a dragon voice, creating an image of a beast, or enforcing a mark. The description is of a singular person, not a symbolic entity or a figure with the broad, global influence implied by the theme.

True vs. False Prophets

The verse simply identifies a person as a "false prophet" without providing any criteria or tests for distinguishing him from a true prophet, nor does it issue a warning against him.
