Thus saith the Lord the maker thereof, the Lord that formed it, to establish it; the Lord is his name;

3

Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

4

For thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city, and concerning the houses of the kings of Judah, which are thrown down by the mounts, and by the sword;

5

They come to fight with the Chaldeans, but it is to fill them with the dead bodies of men, whom I have slain in mine anger and in my fury, and for all whose wickedness I have hid my face from this city.

Counter-Arguments

The strongest case that this verse does not belong in this theme.

Prophecy Fulfilled Literally

The verse describes existing destruction ("thrown down") rather than a future fulfillment of a promise, and it does not explicitly mention any Old Testament promises to Israel that are being fulfilled.

Literal Fulfillment

While the verse describes physical destruction, it doesn't explicitly state that these events are the fulfillment of a prior prophecy, making its direct support for "Literal Fulfillment" slightly less direct than verses that explicitly link a past prophecy to a present or future event.

Prophetic Methods of Communication

The verse states "thus saith the Lord," indicating a divine message, but it does not describe *how* that message was received by Jeremiah, such as through a dream, vision, or audible voice. It only presents the content of the communication, not the method.
