Counter-Arguments

The strongest case that this verse does not belong in this theme.

Annihilation / Destruction

The phrase "cut off" could be interpreted as removal from a position of power or influence, or a cessation of their current way of life, rather than outright annihilation or ceasing to exist.

Saints Reign on Earth

The phrase "inherit the earth" could be interpreted metaphorically as receiving a blessing or spiritual reward, rather than literally possessing or reigning over the physical earth.

Destruction / Perishing Language

The verse explicitly states that "evildoers shall be cut off," which directly uses the phrase "cut off" identified in the theme definition as indicative of destruction language.
