Used 14 times in the NT. This is the word behind "rapture" — from 1 Thess 4:17, "caught up/harpazō to meet the Lord in the air." The Latin Vulgate translated it as "rapturo," giving English "rapture." The word simply means forceful seizure — it says nothing about secrecy.
